Fat Mike of NOFX called Death by Television “the best pop-punk album of all time”. Twenty-five plus years later that statement may still ring true in some circles. The record has nearly 300,000 streams on YouTube, is available digitally at Bandcamp for 9USD, and its for sale on Discogs for 17 USD. All stats aside, this album is worth remembering and revisiting. Lyrical science fiction mixed with air-tight pop punk, this album kicks track after track for each and every one of its 32 minutes. My favorite track is still “X-Ray Specs”.
